SHELDUCK

Slimbridge WWT February 14th 2019

The Shelduck is also plentiful at Slimbridge. It is one of the biggest ducks and it's bold pattern and colouring make it easy to spot and identify.

There is a year round breeding population of around 15000 and 4 times that number overwintering in Britain. They are most commonly found around coastal waters but can also be seen inland on lakes, inland waters and gravel workings.
