The Great Central Railway.... the preserved steam line... hosts an annual event commemorating the 2nd World War. They decorate the stations as far as possible as they would have been at the time and have historical re-enactment groups at each station and feature a full scale battle skirmish at the Rothley station. They also display military vehicles and at the stations and encourage visitors to come in period costumes... and many do.
The event takes place over three days, these images are all from the middle day, Saturday June 2nd. The event isn't meant as a serious history lesson, but is an immensely enjoyable day out
