Hardwick Hall - National Trust

The family home of Elizabeth Cavendish, the Countess of Shrewsbury, better known as the formidable Bess of Hardwick. The hall is a magnificent Tudor house was built to replace the much older Hall, the ruins of which stand only a few yards from the 2new" hall.


The interior of the hall is spectacular, lavishly decorated with tapestries.
