Attingham Park National Trust: 23rd July 2018

Attingham Park - National Trust

Near Shrewsbury in Shropshire

Was built in 1785 for Lord Berwick and it remained in the family for 160 years until it was bequeathed to the National Trust

The house has distinctive "male" and "female" wings. The central library was a pride of the family, but the extravagant roof was a major factor in the bankruptcy of the second Lord.

The grounds are extensive parklands and are home to a herd of deer.
