The first major house on the site was established in 1068, and has undergone many changes and rebuilds through the centuries. The final transformation dates from the mid 19th Century, and through the rest of the Victorian Age Witley Court was opulent and a centre for House Parties and fine living.
The house was finally destroyed by fire in 1937 leaving the elegant ruins we now see
