Anglesey Abbey - National Trust.

The Abbey and Lode Mill are close to the village of Lode in Cambridgeshire.

The house was developed by Lord Fairhaven to impress guests and visitors and houses a collection of books, paintings and silverware as well as clocks. The grounds are extensive parklands and woods with a spectacular herbaceous border enclosed in a walled garden.

The River Lode feeds the Lode Mill n the edge of the grounds.

Upton House - English Heritage


The house is in Warwickshire, about 7 miles north of Banbury. It is the former home of Viscount Bearstead, who bought it in 1927, and made it a family home.


It is noted for a fine collection of porcelain and paintings by Bosch, Stubbs and El Greco


The garden is laid out it rows going down a steep slope with an ornamental lake at the bottom.
